MEMORIAM:
CAN CH SERANSIL PINAFOR KANDIKAIN CD RN VAGN
(AAC) Dec. 24, 1996 – Sept. 14, 2011
We had to say
goodbye to our precious KandiKain (14.5 years). Kandi
was saddened by the loss of her son Rocky in June and
then fought a valiant fight against cancer this summer.
Kandi came into this world on Christmas Eve from my
second standard poodle litter. Kandi completed her
Canadian Championship at the age of 18 months and then
went on to obedience and agility. She completed her CD
with some help from her special friend Donnie Scott.
Between litters she became an agility dog. She
completed her Veteran Agility Dog title with AAC and
gave me one of the greatest thrills I have had in
agility. At our home AAC trial she qualified in 5 out
of 6 runs. At age 13 she completed her Rally Novice
title.
Kandi was our foundation to our silver line. She had
5 litters producing 3 Canadian Champions, 1 Scent Hurdle
Racing Champion, 1 certified Pet Therapy dog (U.S.), 1
German Champion. Her German champion has continued to
develop a beautiful line of silver poodles in that
country.
Kandi was especially known for her
sweet gentle spirit. Just the week before we visited my
granddaughter (10 months old) and Kandi allowed her to
touch her and pull her ears with never a complaint.
For the many people who visited our house to be
introduced to poodles, Kandi was the one who would
cuddle beside them and just enjoy the attention. Many
were heard to say, “I want a poodle just like that
one”. The following poem was sent to me in honor of
Kandi by a dear friend. It says it all as we grieve her
loss.
Heaven’s Doggie
Door
My best friend closed her eyes
last night, as her head was in my hand.
The doctor said that she was in
pain and it was hard for her to stand.
Many thoughts ran through my
head as I cradled her in my arms.
I thought of her puppy years,
and OH..... her many charms.
Today there was no gently nudge
with an intense “I Love You” gaze.
Only a hear that’s filled with
tears remembering our joy-filled days.
But an Angel just appeared to me
and he said “You should cry no more,
God also loves our canine
friends.
He’s Installed a doogie-door!!
Bye my sweet girl till we meet
again on Rainbow Bridge.
